MAX MATENGA

Max is a graduate of the Kōhanga Reo and Kura Kaupapa Māori movements. He has taught in Māori Medium Education since 2010 and is an experienced Composer, Song-Writer and Kapa Haka Tutor and Performer.
His qualifications and experience include:
- Bachelor of Arts (major Te Reo Māori), University of Waikato
- Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching, University of Waikato;
- Masters of Business Administration, University of Waikato (in completion);
- Te Panekiretanga o Te Reo Māori, Institute of Excellence in Te Reo Māori;
- Regional Board member Post Primary Teacher’s Association (PPTA);
- Moderator for New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA);
- Trustee Te Whanau a Kai Iwi Trust;
- Reo Consultant to Aotearoa Kapa Haka Limited and Te Matatini Incorporation;
- Kapa Haka Tutor of Te Kapa Haka o Te Whānau a Kai.

SANDY MATENGA

Sandy is a creative and has a background in Hair Design, Education and Māori Performing Arts having performed for the premier Kapa Haka team Whangara-Mai-Tawhiti for over 15 years. Sandy is also an educator with experience spanning the Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Schools’ Sectors.
Her qualifications and experience include:
- Bachelor of Arts (Primary Schools Education), Te Wananga o Aotearoa;
- Member of the New Zealand Educational Institute (NZEI);
- Kapa Haka Tutor of Te Kapa Haka o Puhi Kaiti.
